Sweet & Sour Cauliflower

Sweet & Sour Cauliflower That Hits Just Right.

Ingredients

Cauliflower.........................................................1 head.

Flour.................................................................3/4 cup.

Cornstarch...........................................................3 tbsp.

Milk...................................................................3/4 cup.

Salt and Pepper..................................................1/4 tsp.

Garlic Powder.....................................................1/2 tsp.

Paprika...............................................................1/2 tsp.

Panko Bread Crumbs.............................................1 cup.

Pineapple Juice......................................................1 cup.

Water..................................................................1/3 cup.

Vinegar.................................................................3 tbsp.

Coconut Aminos...................................................1 tbsp.

Packed Brown Sugar...........................................1/2 cup.

Manuka Honey......................................................2 tbsp.

Sesame Seeds.....................................................To taste.

Directions

  1. Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

  2. Make the batter:
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika until smooth.

  3. Coat the cauliflower:
Dip each cauliflower floret into the batter, letting the excess drip off. Then roll it in panko breadcrumbs to coat.

  4. Bake:
Place coated cauliflower on the baking sheet in a single layer. Bake for 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.

  5. Make the sweet & sour sauce:
While the cauliflower bakes, add pineapple juice, water, vinegar, coconut aminos, brown sugar, and Manuka honey to a saucepan.

Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Simmer for 5–7 minutes until slightly thickened. Remove from heat.

  6. Combine:
Once the cauliflower is done, transfer to a large bowl. Pour the warm sauce over the cauliflower and toss to coat.

  7. Serve:
Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve immediately. Great with rice, quinoa, or as a finger food with toothpicks!
